 🤑 Tether Freezes $28M in Suspected Fraudulent Wallet!

Tether has frozen a Tron wallet containing over 28 million USDT tokens just a week after it was activated on July 9, 2024.

Why, you ask?

Blockchain security firm Bitrace disclosed on X that the frozen TRON wallet is linked to the Huione Group, a Cambodian conglomerate associated with Cambodia’s ruling Hun family.

For those who don't know: Huione Guarantee, ​​an online marketplace under Huione Group, has been a front for cybercrimes, particularly pig-butchering scams.

It's a significant hub for scam activities in Southeast Asia, with criminal transactions totaling at least $11 billion.

Pretty shocking, right? But it gets worse!

Despite Tether’s freeze action, Huione’s other business wallet addresses (including its old business wallet address, TL8TBp) are still up and running.

But fear not—law enforcement and blockchain analysts are on the case!

They plan to stop Huone’s operations by tracking crypto transactions and identifying wallets linked to the platform.
